Candidate Statement

I’m A Martinez, running for the LA Local Board, and grateful to be aligned with the Coalition. It’s been clear for years that our Union’s lingering, merger-born partisanship was a crack that weakened us. The unity we forged to get through the 2023 negotiations was a tremendous advantage, and that fact that we’ve refused to retreat to our separate camps again is the measure of a deeply welcome common sense. The country is teetering on the edge of an unprecedented surrender to economic injustice, and the resistance of unions will be crucial. Solidarity is where we begin.
