Carmen Molinari

Candidate: Convention Delegate

Candidate Bio

Who I Am

I am a proud SAG-AFTRA member for over 20 years. I am deeply committed to protecting and advancing the rights of my fellow performers. I currently serve on the LA Local Women’s Committee and the Ethnic Employment Opportunity Committee, where I work alongside dedicated colleagues to address systemic challenges, expand opportunities, and open doors for every member of our union.

My Journey in the Industry and Service in SAG-AFTRA

My career has taken me through both the triumphs and the challenges of our industry. I have gained firsthand insight into the realities performers face every day. I have experienced the unpredictable nature of our work, the joy of creative achievement, and the obstacles that come with an industry in constant change. As a Latina, I have navigated unique barriers that have shaped my understanding of the urgent need for a union that represents every member equitably. These experiences fuel my commitment to ensuring SAG-AFTRA reflects the diversity of its membership and fosters an environment of genuine belonging, fairness, and respect.

Why Representation Matters

Representation matters not only on screen but also in the rooms where decisions are made. My service on two key committees has given me the platform to:

  • Advocate for equitable opportunities in hiring and casting.

  • Challenge outdated systems that fail to meet the needs of today’s performers.

  • Ensure that every member’s voice is heard and valued, regardless of background, identity, or career stage.

What I’m Fighting For

  • Real inclusion and diversity backed by action, not just words.

  • Equal access to casting platforms without hidden costs or pay-to-play structures.

  • Enforceable self-tape standards with fair limits on pages, turnaround times, and technical demands.

  • Safe and supported ways to report abuse or excessive asks without risking careers.

  • Strong protections against unregulated AI use that threatens performers’ work, image, and likeness.

My Commitment to Action

This campaign is about action, not promises. I believe our union must work in practice with enforceable policies, real protections, and visible results that members can feel in their daily work lives. It is not enough to adopt policies that look good on paper but cannot be enforced. Our members deserve tangible progress, meaningful protections, and leadership that will fight to deliver them.

Why Your Vote Matters

With ballots now out, I am asking for your vote. This is not just for me, but for the entire Coalition slate. A vote for our slate is a vote for unity, strength, and progress. It is the most powerful way to protect your rights, defend the rights of all members, and secure lasting change for the future of our union. Together, we can ensure SAG-AFTRA remains strong, fair, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of every member for generations to come.

Vote “126. Carmen Molinari” and the Coalition Slate.
