Nandini Bapat
Candidate: Convention Delegate
Candidate Bio
I am running to become a delegate because I am a working actor who cares about our rights and access to jobs in a world where media corporations are turning to AI to steal our likenesses and our work, with the goal of replacing us. I believe in supporting what is necessary to make sure film/TV acting stays a profession for humans well into the future and beyond.
I am very passionate about supporting our access to healthcare, our rights around controlling our own likeness, our AI replicas and stopping AI from replacing actors altogether, encouring California and the USA to invest in the entertainment business here and grow our access to union jobs, and ensuring that everyone has a right to a safe and healthy work environment. When Warner Bros tried to make me sign a contract that went against the MBA, I pushed back because I believe in fair play and the rights our union has won for us. I will continue to support what is right and defend our profession to the best of my ability.
