Candidate Bio

I firmly believe that diversity is our strength. This is why I co-wrote the Call to Action in Solidarity proposal that motivated our union's official statement in support of upholding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility throughout our industry. I have worked most of our English and Spanish-language contracts over my 20+years as a union member, so I have first-hand experience about the differences between these worlds. And, in my doctoral research, I study the impact of digital technologies on our work as media professionals, and why it is critical that we develop worker-informed policies and guardrails. I bring all of this into my current and active committee service. My motto is "Different workers experience the same work differently," which is why we need diverse perspectives on all issues as we co-construct the future of our work.
